League ranks and season totals from the NFL game center. Points allowed per game are SprintDesk calculations from final scores on the official Seahawks and Broncos schedules, checked October 14, 2026.
Seattle’s results: beat New England 13-10, beat Arizona 31-7, lost to Washington 33-31, beat the Los Angeles Chargers 30-23, lost to San Francisco 32-29.
Denver’s results: lost to Kansas City 31-10, beat Jacksonville 20-13, beat the Los Angeles Rams 30-26, lost to San Francisco 24-14, beat the Los Angeles Chargers 23-17
What the common opponents tell us
Both teams have played the Chargers and the 49ers, which gives us a rare side-by-side comparison.
Against the Chargers, the results were almost identical. Against San Francisco, Seattle stayed within one possession and scored twice as many points as Denver did. That gap matches the season numbers: Seattle’s offense has simply produced more
Three factors that will decide the game
  • 1. Seattle’s turnovers. Sam Darnold has started the last three games since returning from a glute injury and has thrown five interceptions in that span, according to Heavy. Seattle went 1-2 in those games. Denver’s defense has five interceptions this season, so it can take advantage.
  • 2. Seattle’s defense trend. The Seahawks allowed only 17 points combined in their first two games. In the last three, they allowed 88, an average of 29.3 per game. Denver’s offense ranks 30th in yards, so this is a chance for Seattle’s defense to get back on track.
  • 3. Denver’s secondary without Pat Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga. Denver has ruled out both players with ankle injuries, according to CBS Sports. Surtain is the Broncos’ top cornerback and Hufanga their top safety, and cornerback Riley Moss (ribs) is questionable. Meanwhile, Jaxon Smith-Njigba was a full participant in Seattle’s last practice and carries no game designation, per On SI. That is the matchup most likely to tilt the game toward Seattle
Strengths and concerns for each team
Seattle Seahawks
  • Strength: an offense that has scored 29 or more points in three straight games.
  • Strength: a ball-hawking defense that leads the NFL with seven interceptions.
  • Concern: five Darnold interceptions in three starts, plus a defense that has given up 29.3 points per game over that stretch.
  • Concern: a short week on the road, without running back Zach Charbonnet.
Denver Broncos
• Strength: home field at altitude, with a defense that ranks in the top 10 in sacks and interceptions.
• Strength: a +1 turnover differential, showing an offense that mostly protects the ball.
• Concern: an offense that ranks 30th in yards and 26th in scoring.
• Concern: playing without its top cornerback and top safety, with a third defensive back questionable
A long rivalry with a recent Seattle edge
The former AFC West rivals have met 58 times, and Denver leads the all-time series 35-23, according to the Broncos-Seahawks rivalry record. Seattle won the most recent meeting 26-20 in Seattle in September 2024. The last game in Denver, in 2018, went to the Broncos 27-24. The most famous meeting remains Super Bowl XLVIII, which Seattle won 43-8
SprintDesk’s prediction
Our prediction: Seahawks 24, Broncos 20.
Seattle is the more complete team on paper. It scores 7.4 more points per game and gains 59 more yards per game, and it also allows fewer points. Denver’s offense has not shown it can keep pace with a team scoring in the high 20s, and Surtain’s absence removes the player best suited to slow down Smith-Njigba.
We do not expect a blowout. Denver is at home, its pass rush is effective, and Seattle’s recent interceptions have kept opponents in games. We see a close, lower-scoring game than Seattle’s last three, decided by one or two possessions in the fourth quarter.
What could change our view: if Darnold turns the ball over two or more times, Denver becomes the more likely winner. If Denver’s backup defensive backs contain Smith-Njigba, expect a lower-scoring game and a narrower Seattle edge
How to watch:
The game streams on Prime Video, with Al Michaels on play-by-play, Kirk Herbstreit as analyst and Kaylee Hartung on the sideline, according to the Seahawks’ official viewing guide. Fans can also follow along on NFL+ on mobile devices or on the Seahawks and Broncos radio networks.
